Birth to two months
If you're adopting a cat, it's likely that the cat is already past the milestone of eight weeks old. This is an important period for a cat's development, so if you need more information, it's recommended to consult with your veterinarian.
Two months
Vaccinations are important for a healthy kitten. The first round of vaccinations will start at 6-8 weeks.
Two to four months
During this period, your cat's unique personality will begin to develop and their bond with the family will strengthen. It is important to establish trust and create a core territory where they feel secure. This stage is also crucial for house training and additional vaccinations will be required.
Four to eight months
During this stage, it is important to think about microchipping your cat and having them spayed or neutered, which your veterinarian can advise you on. This can be discussed during your kitten's vaccination appointments. At around six months of age, you can consider giving your cat unsupervised access to the outdoors. Training should also continue during this time.
