What to do if the tick has already bitten my dog?

To remove a tick, it is recommended to use a tick removal tool such as tweezers or a tick fork. Carefully grip the tick as close to your pet’s skin as possible, at the tick mouthparts, and gently twist it. Then, pull the tick away from the skin, taking care not to squeeze the tick’s body. After removal, make sure the tick is disposed of properly and cannot escape to find another host to feed on.

Even after a tick has been removed, it is still possible for a dog to develop symptoms of tick-borne diseases. Therefore, it is important to monitor your dog closely for any changes in behavior or health. If you have any concerns, it is recommended to seek veterinary attention as soon as possible.
